Confession Time: My Blogtober Fail

AGHH!!!

I can’t believe I have missed 6 days of Blogtober now! I’m so mad but I think I have a good reason. And I thought for today’s post it would be a good idea to explain where I have been.

This past week has been a little crazy. So here is an overview of what I’ve been going through.

Migraines

My crazy week started with my insane migraines. So almost 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Chronic Migraine Syndrome and suffer from daily migraines. Most days are pretty manageable but others I feel like I’m dying. I have the same factors from normal migraines like sensitivity to light and noise but I’ve come to learn how to live with it for the most part. Some days I wake up feeling so nauseous I can’t move. I have 3 different kinds of medicine which I can’t really tell if they really seem to help. One in particular makes me even more sick for about 3 hours where I do nothing but rock back and forth in cradle position because I’m in so much pain but after the 3 hours my migraine is gone. I don’t take it often but unfortunately works with a few drawbacks.

Luckily, I have a few doctor appointments coming up so we will see how those go!

Projects

On top of constant migraines I had a huge internship project at the beginning of the week. I haven’t written too much on my internship and maybe I’ll do a few posts on it but to keep it short; basically I currently intern at my dream company in NYC. There are 5 total interns and only 1 open Publicity Assistant position, which we are all in the fight for. As part of the 2nd round of interviews we were asked to complete a project.

While it was a little time-consuming and very stressful I was happy after turning it in, hoping it makes my case as to why I deserve this position.

Friends

Thankfully, the weekend was filled with friends and fun activities. Kaalen’s friends from college came to stay with us. They got in on Friday night and I dropped them off at a bar not too far from our apartment. On Saturday, we headed to Jersey City to watch the WVU vs. TCU game.

Let’s Goooooo Mountaineers!!!

After the game we walked around the mall for a bit and headed home and planned on venturing into the city to go bar hopping. Well that was a little bit of a bust so we changed our plans to head to Hoboken and about halfway there we changed our minds again to stay closer to our apartment. We went to Mr. East which was a bar and club and it was really nice and played good variety of music to accommodate a lot of different tastes. After about an hour or two into being there we all realized that we are not the party animals we were and it was a little overwhelming and decided to leave. It was only like 1 or 2 in the morning!!!LOL

TV Time

Sunday morning we all ate breakfast at IHOP and they watched Sunday football games while I watched Greek!

Kaalen and I also started two new Netflix shows which I have been loving. We started watching Containment, which is a show based in Atlanta where an outbreak of a deadly virus is being spread and part of the city is put on complete quarantine. It’s pretty interesting! Well at least I think so.

We also started Westworld, which is way too confusing for me to try to put into words! But go and check it out here! Plus it’s only 10 episodes!

Getting back on track!

Today is a new week and I’m fully prepared to finish out Blogtober strong. Thanks for sticking with me and reading my blog!
